The Australian Grand Prix Track gets a Downer Revamp

For the first time since its construction in 1995, the iconic Formula 1 Australian Grand Prix Circuit at Albert Park has had a complete circuit resurface by the expert team at Downer Road Services.

The resurfacing is a much-needed requirement to ensure the circuit maintains its safe conditions and the highest quality standards. The new look track also promises faster cornering speeds and increased overtaking opportunities, creating an exciting spectacle for drivers and fans. 

Our incredible Roads team worked throughout the Christmas period to complete the final stage of the Albert Park Circuit Modifications Project, which involved the milling and resurfacing of 70,000 square metres of circuit and included more than 9,000 tonnes of internationally developed high-performance asphalt mix.
